Other Power Metal Bands

Well, I want to open this topic to talk about power metal bands.

I guess that the power metal is my favourite style, and individuality Fairyland

Well, so lets talk about them.
How about Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody (without Fire ), Six Magics, and others.

Lately, I'll upload two songs of a band from my country (Argentina), call "Kapel Maister". They do a mixture of Power, Symphonic and Gothic Metal.

Well, I think this is all for this post, so, time to coment ^^

Of course, without Fire I really love Rhapsody (especially the firsts records : Legendary Tales, SOEL, Dawn of victory...) but the last album disappointed me sooo much

Im also a great fan of Rhapsody and i actually like Triumph or Agony but its not the best album.

The band that has the biggest place in my heart though is Blind Guardian .. It was actually them who got me into metal..

BG is also my favourite band... They've something.... I don't really know but.. something epic, beautiful, sad... something...

Rhapsody, I like, but not so much today, I loved it before ! Especially SOEl and Legendary Tales too, but I think that the last album isn't so bad... Less metal, I think... But I prefer SOEL II to Triumph or Agony

rhapsody is good blind guardian is realy good to but i prefer kamelot or symphonic metal and arjen lucassens work ayreon ambeon star one and some times stream of passion but not to much and sometimes c.o.b.

Oh yes, I forgot Ayreon... Shame on me !

What Lucasses make with Ayreon is really great, he's a great composer, with great iedas.

I love especiall The Dream Sequencer, but the last one is very good, and Into the Electric Castle is wonderful

The Final Experiment is more medieval, but really a very good first album too

And the other ones (Flight Of The Migrator, Human Equation) are rgeat too... Really an exceptional "band ?", or maybe an exceptional man ^^

an exceptional man more and into the electric castle is my favorit
but the rest is good to

and saxon and some similar artis are fun to listen to from time to time

Ride the Comet woohh^^
but all the others are very nice to listen aswell afcours^^

Kamelot is one of my absolute favo's for the moment,
probly cause of the concert they gave^^

I really love Ayreon too

And Kamelot... of course, one of my favourite bands !
I discovered Metal with Metallica, and shortly after with some bands like Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody, Kamelot and Fairyland.

I saw them all in concert... except Rhapsody
And Rhapsody isn't one of my favourite bands anymore...don't know exactly why... I haven't listen Rhapsody for months...

But they others (Sonata, Kamelot and Fairyland) are still my favourite bands... with Blind Guardian now

well in my case its not realy discoverd my mom raised me with metal and she always takes me to concerts but sadly i cant go with her next weekend to oslo for kamelot and yes she is nuts going from the netherlands to oslo just for a concert wish i could go with her reason why is something i will explane later

Blind Guardian is the best band in the world, you can just love it !

I like Kamelot too, they are great in live too

And Blind Guardian... in live... I've seen them 2 times : in Paris in OCtober the 1st,2006, it was my first concert... and in Wacken in 2007, with 40 000 german metalheads... Oh my god... The feelings during The Bard's Song, sang by the crowd, during Lord Of The Rings, during the show... WAHOO.

I've never seen BG in live ...
Only on DVD ... but Waaaw !

One day I'll see them ! P

thats not a common thingy to be raised with metal
but i bet its nice to be able to go to all those concerts^^
and u cant complain about those boring "classic" bullshitmusic parents normally lissens to^^

BG is an incredible live experience!

its realy funny and if my aunt is at the concert to then its even more fun because i look more like my aunt then my mom love the confusion on peolpes faces when i have to explane that

It's ok , i now you're busy .. all that matters is that you take care of yourself . Though if you have some time over sometime , its always nice to know how things are going.



Have to add also that i really like Dark Moor , both with or without Elisa

Anyone here like Dragonland? I have their album 'Starfall' and it's pretty good. Some of their older stuff is good as well.

Dragonland is a great band, my big brother raised me on metal . You all should like Freedom Call, amazing stuff. Northern Kings, Avantasia, Dreamtale, Six Magics, Lunatica are all pretty good.

northern kings are cool (and a little insane) and avantasia is great to listen to when you want just close your eyes and drift away on the music

I'm hoping that Timo Tolkki's new band Revolution Renaissance will be good. Of course I really want to hear Score to a New Beginning .

Beside Fairyland (of course), Rhapsody, Nightwish and the last Therion' albums are my favorite power metal bands.

I had a chance to see them, once, and I didn't take it. I'd like to share a brief story with you:

Barcelona, Spain, early May of 2003 (sorry, can't remember the exact day)
A group of 8 friends (including me), ranging between 14 and 18 years old, meet as usual somewhere near Parc Güell, and start blasfeming, cursing against everything, and so on. The reason: we had reacted too late and all tickets were already sold out. One of these friends was specially frustrated due to the fact that the event coincided with his birthday (well, technically the concert started on May 30th evening, and his birthday was on the 31st, but we all knew that it would last until well past midnight).
Since we couldn't do anything else, we appointed for another role-playing night for that date.

St. Pere de Ribes (my town, quite near Barcelona), May 30th, around 3 or 4 PM
My brother (who had had his ticket since March or so) receives a phone call. Without even hanging the phone, he calls me from the living room and tells me the facts: one of his friends got sick that morning, there is a "free" ticket on the air and the owner has decided to offer it to me before someone else (there were many friends of my brother who didn't get their tickets soon enough, just like my friends and me). So, I had to choose immediatelly whether to betray my best friend on his birthday or miss a unique chance to see my favourite band live.

Barcelona, May 30th, around 8 or 9 PM
Just after telling my friends what happenned that afternoon, the birthday guy takes a while to decide whether to kiss or kill me (finally, he decided the only possible good outcome of that: he did neither of both). After that, we put the pizzas on the oven and started preparing everything for the role-playing night... I shall never forget that night: one of the best gaming sessions we have had, but also the night when I could have been in a Blind Guardian concert.

If somebody wonders, maybe I regret to have missed that event, but I do not regret the choice I took. On the other hand, if I find myself in the same situation, I don't think I'd take the same choice again (one for'em, one for me, that's fair enough, isn't it? )
